This is the Greatest Showwww…

Hi there!! Welcome to my blog. It’s my very own wacky yet loving space. All is welcome. YOU especially are welcome! Bring on the good vibes. The more the merrier! I’m Jaclyn! Hi again! 🙂 I’m currently in San Diego right now. I spent the majority of my life with my parents, brothers and twenty cousins in Dallas, TX though. That’s where the “y’all” came from. Here’s a pic of our last visit. See? Huge family.

I’m also a mom to this spunky little 4 year old. You’ve probably seen Sophia’s face around here somewhere. Oh and, I’m single. Just gotta put that out there, too. ha! 😉 I’m a yoga teacher and personal trainer and also a server at a sushi restaurant currently. You’ll eventually know every thing there is to know about me. Hmm… but I’m missing something.. Oh! Why I started this blog. Ok, story time!

For as long as I could remember, every time I would walk into any public place, I’d look down and stare at the floor because it was really difficult for me to look at someone in the eyes. At any social gathering, I’d always want to run away when there’s someone new came in the room and I feel like I’m about to be introduced by a mutual friend or family member. I hid so much that people who I’ve met only knew me as my brother, Calvin’s, sister because my mom would force us to go everywhere together. This felt so incredibly small, yet comfortable.

This is exactly how Sophia is behaving socially as well. Maybe just a little more than me because she would give my friends a blank stare when they’re just simply saying Hi to her. It breaks my heart to see that she’s unwilling to be open and receptive. In experiencing that, I saw an opportunity where I could be responsible and change this for the better for both of us. That’s why this year I decided to break out of my shell. That means no more hiding. It just doesn’t serve me and what I’m up to.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve improved and gotten to be more social over the years and now that I find myself in the service industry, being social just comes with the job. I absolutely love it now! But there’s just a-whole-nother level that I could get to and I know that I’m capable of breaking through with this, “hiding out” survival mechanism once and for all.

With that being said, I will share my acts of courage and self-expression on here a ton. I will also share my other huge passions such as :

  • workouts and yoga pose breakdowns
  • fitness and health tips
  • personal development
  • mindset hacking
  • lifestyle and relationships
  • Just everything, my world, my everything.

My mantra this year is,

Nothing to prove. Nothing to hide. Nothing to protect. Nothing to defend. The Truth is sexy!

So that’s what you could expect from me in this awesome little space on the internet. If you’re into that kinda stuff, great!! Thanks for joining the ride! I truly hope it inspires you, brings you joy, makes you smile and impacts your life in a positive way somehow. If you’re not into this kinda stuff, still great!! Keep doing you boo! <3

As a reward for reading all the way through and hearing me out, I’ll show my appreciation with this video of what a typical Saturday morning looks like for me and my family. This was one of the first acts of self-expression I shared with the world this year. I’ve heard its pretty entertaining, but idk, see it for yourself and let me know if those people were right.  I’ll use this as a declaration that my life will be my greatest show! To many more epic posts and impacting the world, enjoy!
