That was my personal Top 10 Rules of Success. I want to look in hindsight and say “oh yeah I created that.” Looking 10 years from now I want to feel like that’s obviously what I embodied. Even to a point where I don’t even need to speak a single word on any of it because the stories people hear and my reputation will do the talking for me. When I created this, it was intended to remind myself what path and the type of person I want to become. So now it’s your turn to create your own!

How to Create your own 10 Rules of Success

Step 1 – Look at your defining moments.

There are certain points in your life where something happens and it made you who you are today. Jot those stories down quickly as they come up from your memory. Don’t go in depth here just yet.

Step 2 – Create a punchline for each defining moment.

Summarize each story with just one sentence to describe it. Like getting ready for a powerpoint presentation. You don’t want a full slide of texts. Keep it short and impactful.

Step 3 – Create the list until you get to ten or even a little more.

Use the process of elimination and choose the ones that hit you most. Think of something that are important enough to share with your grandkids and future generations to come.

Step 4 – Touch it every month for a year and make necessary adjustments for it to come alive and resonate.

This is the creative process. Read it and work on it at least once a month, ideally once a week. Because you’ll evolve. let your story and values evolve. life will happen and maybe you’ll see a certain situation in a new light and gain some more clarity on how you want to remember it or express it.
