How to End Procrastination

If fear thrived off of TIME..if fear’s food is TIME like that’s the only way it could live and survive, then you must starve fear to end the anxiety that leads to procrastination.

I heard this idea from Grant Cardone and I was shookth. It finally hit me that fear just buys your time and we label that “anxiety”. For example, if the thing I’m scared to do is write a book, ALL this time I spent distracting myself, to prepare and not do the damn thing, was feeding it time to stall and collect evidence as to why my fear is right. Well that just sucks because the bigger truth is, “on the other side of fear is absolute bliss!” “Fear should be a target you run through to get to your fullest potential!”

So I am calling myself out. Writing my book is been way long over due. I tried putting my cover of the book on my wallpaper of my phone and I guess it worked because I was too embarrassed or tired of trying to explain why I had a picture of myself with words on it.

My clients are the best. They are going to be the inspiration to the words I’m going to capture in those pages. So with that being said. I want to do something extremely radical to end this procrastination. Let’s make this a mindset exercise to end procrastination.

Steps to Starve Fear and End Procrastination

  1. Acknowledge the Fear and call it out. One place to start journaling is asking yourself what are you avoiding. What are you distracting yourself from? Word vomit on the page and it’ll come out. The nastier and blunt you can call the fear out, the better. *Important* Only allow yourself 5-15 minutes to figure it out because I’ve gone down rabbit holes of self-pity and that’s just not helpful at all. No need to get lost. You already know what it is you need to do.
  2. What does your vision/full potential want to happen? Get in touch with that vision of your life. If you haven’t taken the time to write out your vision, do so now!! How would you know what you’re creating if there’s no destination?? Ask yourself what’s the FIRST step I need to take to get to where I’m scared to go.
  3. TAKE MASSIVE ACTION to rule it out. Spend all your time chasing the fear so it no longer has power or control over you. Don’t think about it anymore. Don’t feed it any more of your time. Let’s get it. Let’s GO! GO! GO!

For the month of August I will finish writing the first draft of my book. Yes, the FIRST draft! Y’all heard it here, first! Watch this happen. No ifs, ands, or buts about it!! The first step for me is to put in my calendar time to touch and work on it everyday of the month. Have writing become a habit and show up even when I don’t feel like it. For me, I let 5 people I’m closest to know what I’m up to so they could hold me accountable to it. Then I show up with integrity and go!! Yeee! I’m excited! I hope you are too!

Hope this helps you take action in your life. Remember, we are not certain of tomorrow and getting another chance to live. Each moment is literally YOUR CHOICE! Take it and CREATE it with all you got. Don’t leave anything behind!
