Here’s a Super Personal Share

I really hope this inspires someone to live unapologetically— to pick up a camera and take a record of a day in your life. Something you could look back to see how much you’ve grown as a person.

One of my milestone goals in life was to become a published author by the age of 25 and I successfully did that in my 25th year. I grabbed an amazing opportunity to co-author a book about women empowerment with 17 other women, sharing our stories of rising like a phoenix from the ashes of betrayal and pain.

The book came out and I was super excited to share my chapter with the world up until a particular someone read it and instead of talking about it with that person, I made his reaction mean that I did something wrong.  I started feeling ashamed and embarrassed that I never read it or mentioned it again… until today. It’s been almost four years since I’ve touched this book.

If you want to witness me go through spaces while re-reading something that came from my heart at an earlier age and time in my life, this is it.

My only hope in sharing this is to show you that your mind makes up so much stuff that sometimes its important to reflect and face the truth. Be honest with yourself again and again. Also, another great point is that there’s so much gold in documenting your life. There shouldn’t be any judgment in any of it. Placing any expectation or criticism in your work and your expression could really kill any possibility to live a vibrant life. Plus, in documenting you could get back in touch with what drives you because from living the day-to-day sometimes we forget what actually moves us. That’s what this did for me today.

Until next time,
